Planning consent granted to extend a house on the Suffolk Coast

Suffolk County Council have recently granted us planning consent to extend a converted barn in a conservation area in Walberswick. The building is on the edge of the village next to the Dunwich River and the beach. The proposal adds two bedrooms, three bathrooms and a generous kitchen.

Listed Building Consent granted to convert Arts and Crafts Mission Hall into a home

We have received permission to repurpose a Grade II listed Temperance Mission Hall, built by Edward Schroeder Prior in 1884. The building was badly neglected and altered during fifty years use as a plastics moulding factory. The new owners, designer-makers with a young son, want to restore the building and sensitively insert domestic functions without compromising the drama of the spaces. The Arts and Crafts building is sited in the Harrow on the Hill conservation area.

Planning consent granted for new house in Pembrokeshire Coast National Park

We have designed a new home for an artist, a designer and their family. The three bedroom house will overlook the beautiful Newgale beach in the far west of Wales. The proposal echoes the form and the varied uses of a traditional welsh long house. Planning permission has been granted by Pembrokeshire Coast National Park at the first attempt.

Planning Application Submitted for Design Studio in Bethnal Green

We have designed a two storey roof extension for the studio of the design practice Brinkworth.  The practice has occupied the Victorian industrial building for nearly thirty years and this extension allows them to keep their expanding business in its spiritual home.

Traditional wood-fired bricks

Looking to source bricks for our project in the Chilterns, we visited  H.G Matthews, the only place in the UK that makes wood-fired bricks in a traditional wood-fired kiln. The clay is locally dug, and the wood sustainably sourced from their own managed woods.
